I am now licensing my images to manufacturers and retailers with track records of success.
Basic Licensing Structure:
There's a basic fee to secure the use of an existing image.
Additionally, there's a fee that is based on percentage of sales.
Most products need the art altered to fit the product. If I do this, there would be a design fee to alter an existing image.
If a custom design needs to be done, there would essentially be a commission fee, but you can have the art. you would have rights to use the image for a specific use, but you wouldn't own the image.
Fees would be based on a number of criteria including product type, length of license, number of images licensed, complexity of design change and projected sales.
